Description jerrysg 2009-05-28 22:10:40 UTC
When OOo Writer does a scheduled document backup, the focus returns to the
cursor location rather than the viewing location (which it did on all previous
versions). Explanation: I view and edit large documents. As I read thru the
documents, sometimes edits are not necessary for 3 or 4 pages. Thus the focus
(location in document of viewing window) may be several pages ahead of the
location of the cusor. If a backup occurs at this time, the focus shifts back
several pages to where the cusor was located rather than remaining where I was
reading. This has only occured since the update to Version 3.1. On previous
versions, the viewing window remained stationary after a backup.

Confirming with 3.1 - as described.
But this problem seems to be fixed in m48.

jerrysg,
please try latest dev build and close the issue if you do not experience the
problem.
Thanks.
WBR,
KP.

Cannot confirm with OOo 3.1 on Vista.

Repro:
1. Open doc 6-7 pages (or longer).
2. Make any edit and scroll somewhere using scroll-bar or mouse wheel, not
touching keys.
3. Click save - view returns to caret (where you made an edit).
