No problem opening both of your files here on two different linux machines. Which Distribution do you use and is your Office an original build or from some other source? Arch linux Office is from http://download.go-oo.org/OOO310/ooo-build-3.1.0.6.tar.gz with these pkgbuild http://repos.archlinux.org/viewvc.cgi/go-openoffice/repos/extra-x86_64/PKGBUILD?revision=40340&view=markup Since this is not reproducible with an official build we cannot do anything about it, sorry. Closed. Reopening Reproducible with m48 on Windows - open class2.ppt, press F5. Office allocates RAM and soon crashes. 3.0.0 slide shows just fine - regression. Sorry, not reproducible here with m48 on XP. Can you provide a stack id , please? Unfortunatly crash reporter is invoking for me in just 5% of crashes. This crash falls into another 95% where I do not get crash reporter, so no stack ID. I just tried CLASS2.PPT in 3.1 - opening takes 60 times more time then 3.0.0 needs, slide show is unbeleivably slow and after ending slide show Impress froze on me with 100% CPU usage and I had to kill Office. I can provide DrWatson crash report, if it can be of any help. Again I cannot reproduced the behavior described by you.Class2.ppt is opened by version 3.0 in 1 min 26 sec, version 3.1 needs 1 min 18 sec. No freeze, no crash. How much RAM do you have in your system and is this an official OOo version you are using? Thanks in advance. On my machine (Thinkpad X40, 1,4 GHz 1 Go RAM with Ubuntu 8.04) OOo 3.1.0 FR/US needs more than 10 minutes to import class2.ppt. Process soffice.bin uses around 200 MB of memory. I had to kill OOo because it was too long to redraw the window when the screen has been turned off then turned on by acpi. @ jbfaure: and you use an original OOo build or a version from Ubuntu? @ wg : only original OOo build of course, which one I have accepted in QAtrack. :-) Regards. files are not accessible anymore.
