Can reproduce it in OOo3.0 on WinXP and Fedora.
Have checked in OOo2.4.1 on WinXP, it works well.

How to reproduce it
1 Open a new Impress file
2 Right_click on thumbnail and copy, switch to Slide Sorter view,
  View - Slide Pane to show thumbnail, Right_click on thumbnail and paste
3 Click another document in Taskbar of OS, like calc doc, then back to impress
  file opened at step 1 (This step is to invoke the Insert Slides dialog 
  at step 4 )
4 Right_click on thumbnail and paste, Insert Slides dialog opens, click OK
  button, if no crash, pls paste slide several times

Result
OOo crashes

Expectation
OOo works well.

Note
If you do once, there is no crash, pls reopen OOo and  repeat these four steps

Reproducible in 3.0 but not in current m53 anymore.

Reproducible, but seldom. I will attach a stack ID from m53 when it arrives.

Hm. I'm seeing a similar crash here, that is tied to customshapes - apparently
the generated geometry is not purged on model changes, keeping ItemSets with
stale parent pointers (that later lead to crashes when copying/pasting several
times). Hard to tell w/o a stack trace if it's the same - will attach my fix for
reference.
