Please add some screenshots and mark the problem or describe it more precise. Thanks! I add a screenshot of the impress problem. You can see that the lines width are different at presentation time and design time Created attachment 63818 [details]

Sorry, not reproducible here. Is this a special monitor resolution you are using? Does it happen when you deselect AntiAliasing under Tools/options/view graphics output? Thanks for your help. wg, cannot you see that some lines have different width at edition time and at presentation time? Another difference is that grey lines may appear as black at presentation time (as pointed out in the screenshot). Some other times, the white spaces between cell borders are black at presentation time.... When switching from antialiasing to not antialiasing the difference is shown only at edition time. At presentation time the result is the same both with and without antialiasing. We want the result to llok exactly the same at edition time and at presentation time when it comes to lines borders, widths and colors. Did this provide enough detail in order to be able to reproduce the bug? Thanks! When anti aliasing is switched off you say that the problem is only visible in edit view. Does it consist even if you zoom into the view? I think that this is a problem connected to Anti-aliasing and the used monitor resolution. I can only reproduce something if I chose Slide Show/SlideShow Settings ,Type Window. With a quite small window something similar to your screenshot appears. Normally I use a 24 inch Monitor and cannot reproduce your problem. Whats your monitor resolution? Hi wg, i am attaching three aditional shots in order to provide more details: - In edition mode, (using my laptop: 1280x800 resolution) when i zoom into the grid, i see it much better. Please have a look at file "edition_mode_with_150_zoom.jpg" - In presentation mode (using my laptop: 1280x800), the problems appear. Please have a look at "presentation_mode_1280x800.jpg" - In presentation mode, using another computer (1280x1024 resolution), problems do not appear. Example in file: "presentation_mode_1280x1024.jpg" Hope this helps Created attachment 64472 [details]

Please try if the problem exists when Anti Aliasing is switched off : uncheck Tools/options/view/use anti aliasing. Thanks again. the problem persists whe antialiasing is disabled. See attachment: "presentation_mode_1280x800_antialiasing_disabled.jpg" Created attachment 64526 [details]

I tried to replicate the bug on window xp proffessional edition service pack 3 on a toshiba laptop of 1GB of ram with 1.66hz processing speed. I couldn't replicate the bug. If you can add some information on how you created the table diagram which shows difference at design and slide show.I created the table insert table command. Created attachment 64683 [details]

I think I have replicated this, but I don't think that what I see is a bug, or if we call it a bug, not a bug that is within the reasonable control of the OOo team. Configuration: Dell Precision M6300 1920x1200 display, Windows XP, OOo-dev 3.2.0 DEV300m55, antialiasing turned off (1) download file prueba.odp from the attachments above (2) Set zoom to variable so the slide is scaled to fit within the window (3) Scale the window (make it small, see small.jpg, make it bigger, see medium.jpg, make it bigger, see large.jpg) (4) The slide should show vertical and horizontal lines that are styled as two relatively lightweight parallel lines. Instead, at different scalings, some of the horizontals or verticals are displayed as one thick black line rather than two thinner parallel lines separated by whitespace. This looks like the same distortion identified in attachment: Tue Sep 1 09:50:00 +0000 2009: presentation_mode_1280x800.jpg I see this kind of distortion when resizing windows in other applications. The display algorithm has a rounding error (I assume) and fills in the space between the lines. Given that I see this in other applications (Adobe Premiere for example), I assume this is a minor bug in a library routine used by OOo and many other applications, or perhaps in libraries provided with Windows. The usual workaround is to display the window at a resolution that is an even multiple of the resolution at which the slide was created, so that we aren't attempting to draw, for example, a 3-pixel wide area into a 2-pixel or 5-pixel area. Drawing those half-pixels is a nuisance. Similarly, the height should probably be multiplied by the same amount as the width. Maybe my intuition about cause is incorrect but the workaround does appear to work for these slides on my machine. Hi cemkaner, you didi it. You replicated the problem. I agree with you that rounding widths of lines is a behaviour shown in other pieces of SW but main problem here is that the rounding is not done in a consistent way. Some times in a use case witdh is rounded to 2 and some other times -in a similar use case- it is rounded to 1. This makes auwful the visualization of the file when it comes to slideshow mode. Two last things: -> Same grid is perfectly shown by PowerPoint (we are trying to migrate) -> The resolution is not a proper workaround because we cannot guarantee the resolution that we are going to find in customer dependencies when showing this presentation. What do you think? @cemkaner: thanks for your explicit help! Reassinged. @af: is there something that could be done about this rounding problem? We’ve tried version 3.2 and the error is still in there. Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org". |
