Description felipew 2003-01-03 21:37:45 UTC
One common behavior of a 2 wheeled mouse is that one of the wheels scrolls
vertically and the other one horizontally.I've tested, with two types of mice
(in two differents pc's) the vertical scrolling goes fine(in all the suite's
applications)but the horizontal doesn't work at all. Both wheels only scroll
vertically. With the same hardware and software I've tested MS Office
applications as well as Windows Explorer and the two wheels do their job fine.
This defect is also present in StarOffice 5.2 and 6.0 applications as well.

Comment 4 h.ilter 2003-03-06 16:23:33 UTC
HI->HDU: As I know you have a two wheel mouse, please take over.
Comment 5 hdu@apache.org 2003-03-06 17:22:30 UTC
HDU->SSA: A feature request for the master of mice on W32.
Comment 6 stephan_schaefer 2003-03-07 12:42:50 UTC
SSA->CJ: I think I could somehow detect the second mouse wheel and
send some messages to the application, but they have to perform the
proper action (i.e., the horizontal scrolling). So its an RFE. Please
decide what to do.
Comment 7 christian.jansen 2003-03-17 09:39:44 UTC
CJ->BH: Like Stephan said it is a RFE and not a defect. So I reassign
this to you. In my opinion we should support two-wheels. If it is
standard to have the second wheel for horizontal scrolling we should
behave in the same way.

I'm interesting too what about second wheel. It's good feature still missing in
OpenOffice. It's to hart or to small problem to do ?

Best regards

SBA: Duplicate of issue 21925?
Please see my comments in that one.

I'm voting for priority implementation into Calc, because IMHO there is the
largest profit of it.

I'm using Logitech mouses on all my computers and with most of them you can tilt
scroll wheel to the left and right. In most applications it works as horizontal
scrolling.

In most of Issues regarding mouse horizontal scrolling somebody suggests to mark
issue as duplicate of 21925. IMHO this one (10433) should be the master, because
in most windows mouse drivers it is possible to configure special buttons or
wheels to make horizontal scrolling, in X, I suppose, it's configurable too. So
primary there should be response to horizontal scroll events in OOo apps.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
