Ever since I used OO.o (which is great), I've always wondered why the
installation-process is so strange. It's the only program which asks me where to
put the temporary files. It's quite ridiculous and nerdy. Please do not ask me
stuff like that. And after installation, it doesn't remove the temp-files, which
would be much more userfriendly.

These files are needed for the so called maintenance mode like modifying or
repairing the installation. See issue 49861
