Description kwalve 2009-09-04 23:10:06 UTC
Create a diagram in OOspreadsheet and copy to OOimpress.
Export the OOimpress-picture to ppt-format.
The picture will appear corrupted in MSppt-program (only part of the diagram is
shown)

The same procedure in OOO300m9 does not show that problem.

Best Regards

Attempted to reproduce this bug. Per instructions I tried to export a
spreadsheet file I created. Im using OOo-dev 3.2.0 and I did not find the option
to export this file as a .ppt. So I tried to "Save as..." a .ppt. It worked fine
when opening it with Powerpoint 2007. Tried using kwalve's file and got the same
error as him. The graph i created was a Column Graph whereas kwalve's was a Line
graph. Went back and made a Line Graph (different data was used) and saved it as
a ppt. When I tried open in Powerpoint the image would not show. Similarly, this
occured with Pie and Bubble Graphs as well. Bar, Net and Scatter point graphs
seem to be working fine. All of these where tested with charts with only 7 data
values.
OS is Vista SP2.

I wondered if there was an update for this issue please?
It also occurs for users opening .ppt in any Windows environment including
Windows7. Any OLE object created in OO becomes an X in a box. Very distressing
for presentations created under Open Office and presented in Powerpoint.

I have found out that the issue does not show itself with Powerpoint viewer. I
recently downloaded a copy and viewed the presentations with the issue and the graphs are all fine. However as soon as they are opened in Powerpoint itself they
become little red crosses - even when viewed as a slide show.

My work around at the moment is to only paste in the graphs when working off a
boot version of Jaunty and saving to a memory stick - not ideal but OK for the
moment.

This issue also seems to affect Zoho Show and Google docs import of .odp files,
and export of Writer files to MS Word. (if you have a graphic of a line chart in
a writer document, it will not export to word, but a graphic of a column chart
will).

Setting to broken as it was ok in OOO300m9. Any way of getting this fixed in the
near future?
