Greetz,

I think that when you have a current single block of Cells selected in the
spreadsheet and you choose Print from the File menu.
The radio box should automatically default to print the current selection of
cells and not the whole document.

I think this should also apply to the Writer.
(should I submit this myself again in the writer issues section?)

Also I think that instead of having an tick box about
"print only selected sheet" in the options menu for spreadsheet.
Wouldn't it be better to have radio boxes in the Print Window itself
one called "Current sheet" and another one called "All sheets"
with an option to just choose witch you prefere to be the default setting.

I hope I've been clear with my explainations
thanks for your time.

Issue 33063 has more info. Should a spec be written about this before
implementation?

Most users I talked to come from MS Office, where Print prints only the current
sheet. This seems correct to me, although I've used only Star/OpenOffice in the
past years. It's annoying to work on a multiple-sheet document, print when done
and discover on printer output that all sheets have been printed.

yes I also think it would be more usable and natural that default print action
is to print _only_ current sheet, not all sheets.
Comment 6 lars 2006-01-06 12:45:09 UTC
other issues suggestions:

make as printing default:

- current sheets only
- current page only
- selected cells only

Please implement "Print current sheet only" and "Supress output of empty
pages" by default. Otherwise users waste tons of paper.
Thanks a lot!

nn -> There was a mail on the sc-features mailing-list. Isn't this issue at
least partly solved with CWS dr55? Shouldn't the URL field point to that? Here
is the detail:

[sc-features] changed/CWS dr55 : Default print options in Calc

*Description*
-------------
The default values for the following print options in Calc
have been changed:

- Print only selected sheets (property AllSheets)
- Suppress output of empty pages (property EmptyPages)

By default those options are now enabled.

In addition, if the 'Print only selected sheets' option is
enabled, the Calc page preview prints only the displayed sheet.

Furthermore a warning box with the message
'There is nothing to print. The selected print range or sheet is empty.'
is shown, if nothing is printed, e.g. if the document,
selected sheet or print range is empty.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
