Description yurikhan 2009-10-15 13:02:08 UTC
When pasting tab-separated text from clipboard into Calc, cells that would
become empty retain their previous values instead.

To reproduce:
1. Start Windows Notepad.
2. Type: (replace [tab] with actual tab keypresses)
foo[tab][tab]baz
quux[tab]plugh[tab]xyzzy
3. Select all.
4. Copy.
5. Start OpenOffice.org Calc.
6. Navigate to cell B1.
7. Type:
bar
8. Navigate to cell A1.
9. Paste.
10. In the Text Import wizard, select:
 * Character set: Unicode
 * From row: 1
 * Separated by: [x] Tab (and nothing else).
 * OK

Expected:
 * The B1 cell is empty.

Observed:
 * The B1 cell contains its previous value, "bar".

I have tested this bug on the environment listed below and was also able to confirm that this bug still exists. I also verified that this is a reasonable software feature by testing this functionality in Microsoft Excel. Excel's observed behavior matches the expected behavior listed from yurikhan.
