Date Format MM and DD missing in Chinese ([DBNum2]/[NatNum2][$-804])

OpenOffice Simplified Chinese: v3.1.0 000310m11 Build9399
System: Windows XP Pro SP3 Simplified Chinese
Problem: MM and DD is the same as M and D in Simplified Chinese spell out
[NatNum2][$-804] ([DBNum2] in Excel), which is not suitable for accounting

When specifying the date formate of a cell as [NatNum2][$-804]YYYY" "MM" "DD"
", unlike the way in Excel, MM or DD in OpenOffice is the same as M or D,
which is not usable for accounting in China. Basicly there's a rule in
accounting to spell out the month and date, It would be correct and handy to
make MM and DD compell that rule in [DBNum2]/[NatNum2][$-804].

examples:
MM DD of 01 09 (Jan 9th) shall be 零壹 零玖 (Leading 零 is required for month 1
and 2, date 1-9. If MM DD is the same as M D, the required leading 零 is
missing - 壹 玖)
MM DD of 08 11 (Aug 11th) shall be 零捌 壹拾壹 (Leading 壹 is required for date
10-19,If MM DD is the same as M D, the required leading 壹 is missing - 捌 拾壹.)
MM DD of 11 29 (Nov 29th) shall be 壹拾壹 贰拾玖 (Just as date 10-19, Leading
壹 is required for month 10-12)

I encountered this when trying to use Calc to print a cheque. As MM DD is
missing in [NatNum2][$-804], one has to use unessasary functions to write the
date and month correctly. Excel handles this correctly.

@asdfdsa:
To be sure: the format code you gave
[NatNum2][$-804]YYYY" "MM" "DD" "
contains U+3000 IDEOGRAPHIC SPACE characters, correct?

Could you please give not just examples for when leading characters for month
and/or day are required, but state the exact rules instead, so someone could
implement them?

Thanks
  Eike

Yes, it does. It's just an example I tried to use, you can change the format
code as long as it contains mm or dd.

Though not exactly copied from the regulations, I think the rules to "spell out"
the numbers are:
1. add 零 (zero) in front of number (day/month) 1-9
2. add 壹 (one) in front of number 10-19 (day 10-19/month 10-12)

I've created a new attachment. It is a picture of days and months in the format
of [DBnum2]dd/[DBnum2]mm in Excel 2000, which shall complies with the rules.

(btw, I noted that in Excell 2000, for day 10-19 (month 10-12), d/m is the same
as dd/mm, i.e. a leading 1 (壹) is added. I don't know if it's changed in later
Excel versions. Personaly I think we shall keep the current implementation of
D/M in OOo)
