This the file that is corrupt from the last save, it was saved numerous times before. I NEED THE TEXT recovred.
@ajithtitus: we'd like to know how you could create such a defect document. Did you save it in OOo or used an external tool? What did you do last before saving? @MAV: - Confirmed: the attached file cannot be opened/repaired in OOo. - I try to repair it using: zip -f -> failed zip -ff -> succeeded in recreating a clean zip file with a document structure but the document still won't load due to a missing manifest.xml Can you please recreate a manifest.xml, repair the attached "repaired.odt" document? Can we fix something in that matter? Created attachment 66097 [details]
half-repaired document
The problem looks to be that the ending of the file looks to be missing. If there is a scenario that allows to reproduce such a corruption in OOo please provide it here. Please also try to look in the <user home>/.openoffice/3/backup folder for a copy of the file if the storing process has crashed. I will attach the version that I have got after the quick recovery. Created attachment 66104 [details]
The recovered file with manifest.xml, the objects "Object 1", "Object 11" and "Object 14" should be repairable, but that would need more time ( does not work aut of the box ). Please let me know if they are important enough to invest additional time.
This resolution is for the purpose of consolidation of situations where a document is lost/corrupted after save/shutdown. Note that after some forensic work, in this case, some of the document was recovered. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 126869 *** |
