The display option for "Nonprinting Characters" has good notations for paragraph breaks, tabs, and space bar characters. Manual line breaks should be better represented. In 1.0.1 they are empty square boxes. Some programs use a bent arrow to indicate non-paragraph line breaks. That's a pretty good choice. (Maybe this should be a separate issue but since it relates so closely, I posted here. Feel free to move/fork this comment.) Reassigned to BH Thank you for your issue Mark. This issue will be reviewed. Changed prio. *** Issue 19141 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** This clearly is a duplicate of issue 25177 - please decide which one to keep. *** Issue 53063 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** *** Issue 62984 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** I feel this should have a higher priority - this is really quite important in terms of what other writer programs offer e.g. MS Word. In particular Issue 62984 http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=62984 needs to be resolved here. *** Issue 76919 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** As the fix for this issue may break backwards compatibility, the time to do it is between major versions. Thus, this issue should be given higher priority to be fixed before the 3.0 release. Also see bug #15666 for much more discussion on the topic. To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements". |
