The issue seems to have to do something with the font chemical.ttf (available here http://www.iac.uni-stuttgart.de/Praktika/Quali/Chemical.ttf ). This font is marked as broken or incomplete since Mac OS X 10.6. Any document containing parts formatted with chemical.ttf is displayed or printed badly, see attachment. This occurs even if the font is not installed on the system. To reproduce error: 1) Open document test.odt 2) Select all, change font to Utopia 3) The omitted text should appear Hope this helps...
