Description dkasak 2010-03-19 06:14:23 UTC
All the window managers I've used under Linux use the ALT & drag combination key
to move windows. Further, ALT & click will raise a window.

OpenOffice presently activates a menu if the ALT key is clicked. This means if
I'm switching between windows by ALT-clicking, or ALT-click-dragging, OpenOffice
will always activate a menu, which I don't want, and I have to hit ALT or ESCAPE
to make it go away. This is absolutely infuriating. I am not the only one to
believe so:

This behaviour is completely incompatible with modern desktop usage. At the very
least, there should be an option to disable this ALT key behaviour. Or better
still, just remove it. The accepted way of activating menus is to use a
COMBINATION of ALT and another key to activate a window, for example ALT & F for
the 'File' menu.

Window is dragged with Alt and menu is not being activated.
