oo version 3.2.1 can not open documents if there are none ascii characters in file name. For example if
there are some Swedish characters in file name oo can not open the file and I get the following message:
"/User/xxxx/Desktop/Förslag.docx dose not exist."

It seems that oo dose not support the Unicode in file name. NeoOffice opens the same filewith no
problem. NeoOffice dose not have this problem.
Comment 3 irani 2010-06-11 12:49:43 UTC
To reproduce the problem:

1- Create a file
2- Give it a name with characters like å ö ä in the file name
3- Save the file to your desktop
4- Close the file
5- Open the file by double clicking on it

NOT Reproducible with "Ooo-Dev 3.3 multilingual version English UI WIN XP:
[DEV300m80 (Build 9507)]". Document "å ö ä.odt" can be opened from OOo WIN file
dialog without problems. MAC specific?

@irani:
Also a problem using OOo file dialog?
Also a problem with CALC, DRAW, IMPRESS?
Please contribute a sample document!
I am not familiar with Mac versions, but OOo310m18 seems to be something
ifferent from 3.2.1?

DUP of Issue 108790 / Issue 69973?

@irani:
Did you successfully open such file with earlyer OOo versions?

Hi

I have had the same problem before, I was hoping that this release solves the problem which didn't
happen. I attach a document created on Win7, MS Word 2007, file name contain Swedish character ö. I am
not able to open it with OOo neither by double clicking, nor from File-->Open nor from contextual menu
open with.. This is a big problem I do not understand why it is not fix yet.
Comment 9 Rainer Bielefeld 2010-06-12 09:29:28 UTC
No Problem to open "förslag.docx" with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE[OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]"

@irani:
It would be a good Idea to contribute a less exotic document type to check
reasons for the problem. Please proceed as following:
1. Start OOo
2. Click 'Text Document' in start center
3. Type "Hello World" into document
4. Menu 'File -> Save as' Save as "sample.odt"
5. close document
6. Rename to "förslag.odt"
7. Test, report your results and attach sample document.

Can you save your simple document as "föörslag.odt" fom OOo file menu?

I am still waiting for your answers to my questions
- Also a problem with CALC, DRAW, IMPRESS?
- your OOo version.

Did you check Issue 108790 / Issue 69973 whether that might be the problem you
reported?
