The checkbox for automatic file extension is there twice on the save dialog.

Which distribution and which window manager are you using?

Gentoo with the KDE dialog but I'm using OOo380m7 (the go-oo.org version).
If you don't see it, it is likely not in the OOo version.

Assuming this is a go-oo problem because we currently don't support system file
picker on KDE.
