*** Issue 115079 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** You may test this procedure in Open Office version 4.01 Rev. 1524958 on your files, as it seems this issue has been remedied. Tested on this build and Calc can open files regardless of invalid file extensions or lack of extension. foo file (originally xls) opens OK.
