Working Presentation in OO format
{reported by Mimi Mendenhall, 3/5/11} I was able to replicate the bug using the reporter’s slide deck in Open Office. After some testing where I saved the presentation in .ODP format and changed some of the custom animation settings, I was able to get the animation on Slide 2 to work as I believe was intended. My Configuration Information: OS: Windows XP Prof, version 5.1 (build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr5.101209-1647) SP 3 OpenOffice Version: OOo-3.4.0 Dev300m99 (build:9570) PowerPoint 2003 version: 11.6564.6568 SP2 These steps I used to replicate the problem: 1. Started Impress by opening the original PowerPoint "JMSS2010Eng10_Wk9_L1_MacbethA1Sc1_powerpoint.ppt" presentation that was attached to this bug report 2.Press <f5> to start the slide show Results: As reported by mcourneyea, the “spin in” custom animation on the last element (“Planning to Meet”) of slide 2 does not work. On the 4th click on slide 2, the text just appears without any special effect. Since the presentation was in PowerPoint format, I ran the same slideshow using MS PowerPoint 2003 and the SPIN-IN animation effect worked correctly. I eventually got the deck to work after performing the following steps: 1. Started Impress by opening the PowerPoint presentation that was attached to this bug report 2. Under the task area, under “Effect Spin In”, I clicked on the “Planning to meet …” element 3. Changed the speed from “very fast” to “slow” 4. Pressed <f5> to start the slide show Result: Animation of the text still did not “spin-in”. Continued testing: 5. Under the task area, under “Effect Spin In”, I clicked on the “Planning to meet …” element 6. Changed speed from “slow” to “fast” 7. Saved (used CTRL-S) presentation and clicked “Save in ODF format” to filename “JMSS2010Eng10_Wk9_L1_MacbethA1Sc1_powerpoint (test 1).odp” 8. Pressed <f5> to start the slide show Result: Animation of the text still did not “spin-in”. Continued testing: 9. Under the task area, under “Effect Spin In”, clicked on the “Planning to meet …” element 10. Under the task area, under “Modify Effect”, clicked on Change 11. Clicked “OK”. 12. Pressed <f5> to start the slide show Result: Spin-In animation of the affected text on Slide 2 now works correctly. I have attached the working “JMSS2010Eng10_Wk9_L1_MacbethA1Sc1_powerpoint (test 1).odp” file. Reproducible in DEV300_m101 on XP. Reassigned. This is a problem of the PPT import. The animation in question is defined by key times that do not conform to the SMIL standard (the values +1 and -1 are not ordered correctly and not in the interval [0,1]). @SJ: Please have a look. |
