Description Unknown 2003-02-16 05:54:54 UTC
I am trying to save an MS Word .doc file that has a different style for the
first page than for the remaining pages in the file. I am finding it impossible
to preserve this format when using .doc files.

1) I create a file with different headers for the "First Page" and "Default"
page styles. I set the first page's page style to "First Page" and the rest to
"Default". Then I save as a "Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP" file.

2) I quit OO Writer completely, then restart it, re-opening the file I just saved.

3) Now I find that the page styles are "Default" for the first page and "Next
converted 1" for the remaining pages (although I still have the expected
different header styles for the first page and for the remaining pages).

4) I save, I quit OO Writer completely again, then restart it again to re-open
the same file.

5) Now I find that all pages are in "Default" style, and they all have the
header that I intended for the first page. The header intended for the
remaining pages is lost completely.

This is using OpenOffice 1.0.2 on a Debian GNU/Linux system (mostly the 3.0
release, but using the openoffice.org packages from the "unstable" distribution).

If you need more info, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks.

Hi dischead,

thanks for using and supporting OpenOffice...

Sorry for delay...

I opened the attached file and saved it to word file format and then
opened the new file with word and everythingwas like you described in
the attached file ("FIRST PAGE header" on the first page and "DEFAULT
header" on the other two pages...

I assume it is fixed now and I'm closing this Issue now...

I think this issue should be reopened. This same problems as described exists
for me in OpenOffice 2.0.4.
Comment 6 cno 2007-06-20 22:40:54 UTC
Same defect is still present in 2.2.1 -> reopen
Comment 7 cno 2007-06-20 23:21:33 UTC
confirm, set to new.
The key defect is that the property 'next style' in the page styles is not
exported correct.
