I would like to see an official OOo howto on using the Bibliography database function to create and
use simple flat-file databases with TXT files and spreadsheets.

CHanging the type to "Task" so it shows up in the Doc Task list.

I have not responed to this because I had not worked out how to do
myself untill now.

We have now worked out what needs to be done.

The cvs file must have the fields delimited by semicolons - ;
OOo users numbers to indicate the citation type 0=article, 1=book,
etc.

The following file fragment text can be saved as biblio.cvs in the
user/Openofficexx/user/database/biblio directory. (I shall attache a
lager version in case the format is messed up here.)

You can now define biblio.cvs as the flat file database -

In Openoffice go to View>Data Sources. Right click on Bibliographic,
select
Administer data sources, change the database type to text, select
the
bibliographic directory again
(home/Openoffice1.1RC/usr/database/biblio)
on the Text tab, select extension=csv
on the table tab select Biblio
It is done.

Now try tools>Bibliographic Database, you will get a prompt that
some fields need to be redefined select yes, some for the field
names have not exactly matched, but it should be obvious what to do
find the fields defined as <none> and select the appropriate ones.

It should then be working, test inset bibliographic references and
produce a bibliographic table.

Note: you can not write to the text database.
