I want text to appear letter by letter like an old typewriter, but it doesn't work: although the option "letter by letter" has been selected (I use the german version, dont know the english translation of "zeichenweise")the whole text appears as one.
If I do the same in Powerpoint, it works, but if I save the powerpointfile and open it in Impress, it fails.

It works here with AOO 3.4 on WinXP.
It is a "Emphasis" effect, so the shape is already there.
It has "Animate attached shape" marked, so the invisible background is rotated first. Set a color to the background, then you see the rotation of the background.
After the background rotation is finished, the single letters are rotated, beginning with those top-left and moving over the whole text.

Are you sure you set the correct effect? If you want "appear" then you need an "Entrance" effect like "Fly In", but the object has the "Emphasis" effect "Spin".

getting rid of value "enhancement" for field "severity".
For enhancement the field "issue type" shall be used.
