I'm aware of issue 61585 which was closed as "wontfix", but I think that an *option* (I'm not asking to drop the localizations, just to have an option to turn them off) to use English names for Greek characters on Math expressions will be useful, specially for those coming from LaTeX.

People with academic backgrounds will be used to LaTeX syntax so for many people the translated names are "non intuitive".

As maintainer of the Math Guide (both ODFA and the wiki) I am very aware of this problem. (See the big fat warning I posted in the wiki version: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Reference/Math_commands#Characters_.E2.80.93_Greek

What would be really nice is if the localizations could be done by "insert" rather than "replace", so that the English names would still be there silently. Any conflicts could be handled by inserting the l10n strings "first" in some sense, possibly disabling one or two English names.

getting rid of value "enhancement" for field "severity".
For enhancement the field "issue type" shall be used.
