Description Andrea Pescetti 2012-08-05 10:20:52 UTC
The most frequent problems reported by users when upgrading to OpenOffice 3.4 can be solved by closing OpenOffice and the Quickstarter and renaming the user profile.

An embedded functionality to do this somewhere in menus (like "Exit and reset user profile") would help a lot. Alternatively, an external dedicated tool can probably be set up very quickly and offered for download from people.apache.org.

There should be an option under Tools --> Options --> Load/Save --> General
where you can reset the user profile to default
This will help in most cases with the exception of crashes.

This problem arises under additional conditions with OpenOffic3 4 as well.
For Windows, the provision of a profile reset/repair side-car tool is via the task reported as Issue 127088.
