I have successfully replicated the bug with OS: Windows 8 K Pro 64bit Windows 8 K 64bit (Language pack installed) Windows 7 Home Premium K 32bit OOo version and build - 3.4.1 AOO341m1(build:9593) – Rev 1435053 I have tried different email server settings for 2 email accounts, and have failed to get passed the email account server setting test in mail merge wizard. Email accounts that I have tested are 1.Daum(daum.net, Korean portal site) 2.Gmail(gmail.com) With following different settings 1.SMTP 2.POP 3.IMAP Steps to reproduce 1.With any document select tools -> mail merge wizard 2.Select mail type to email in second step of wizard 3.Follow the steps until last step of the wizard 4.In the final step of wizard, select send mail and Writer prompts for email account details. 5.Enter email account, and other information needed( or required by the email account) 6.Click test account settings and observe the result. Also I have noticed that when the email account setting test is in progress, Writer sometimes crashes.(This also is in the attached file) Created attachment 80954 [details]
test result with different email settings
(In reply to Yonglok Seo from comment #1) > I have successfully replicated the bug with You have to specify the settings that are failing. See bug 119481 comment 1 for an example of Gmail settings. my apologies. I could not attach any file bigger than 1MB and had to export the document attached as PDF file to reduce the size. In that process the screenshots seems to be unrecognizable even when they are zoomed in. Settings that I used are 1.Gmail SMTP I.Server – smtp.gmail.com II.Port – 465, 587 III.Checked outgoing mail server requires authentication IV.Selected outgoing mail server requires separate authentication V.Entered full email account with password. 1.Gmail POP I.Server – pop.gmail.com II.Port – 995 III.Checked outgoing mail server requires authentication IV.Selected outgoing mail server requires separate authentication V.Entered full email account with password. VI.Selected outgoing and incoming mail server uses same authentication VII.Incoming mail server name – pop.gmail.com VIII.Port – 995 IX.Selected - POP 3 X.Entered full email account and password 2.Daum SMTP I.Server – smtp.daum.net II.Port – 465,587 III.Checked outgoing mail server requires authentication IV.Selected outgoing mail server requires separate authentication V.Entered full email account with password. 3.Daum POP I.Server – pop.daum.net II.Port – 995 III.Checked outgoing mail server requires authentication IV.Selected outgoing mail server requires separate authentication V.Entered full email account with password. VI.Selected outgoing and incoming mail server uses same authentication VII.Incoming mail server name – pop.daum.net VIII.Port – 995 IX.Selected - POP 3 X.Entered full email account and password 4.Daum IMAP I.Server – imap.daum.net II.Port – 993 III.Checked outgoing mail server requires authentication IV.Selected outgoing mail server requires separate authentication V.Entered full email account with password. VI.Selected outgoing and incoming mail server uses same authentication VII.Incoming mail server name – imap.daum.net VIII.Port – 993 IX.Selected - IMAP X.Entered full email account and password I was successful in getting connection with smtp.gmail.com using port number 587 after seeing the bug report you have menthioned using Windows 7, but I still could not get the connection with Windows 8 using the same settings. With the other settings such as POP and IMAP, I still could not get the connection for both Gmail and Daum. Already reported *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of issue 114497 *** |
