Original reporter seems to be referring to a 3rd party program called Java OpenDocument Converter or JOD Converter (found at http://www.artofsolving.com/opensource/jodconverter) which uses OpenOffice.org as a web service to convert file types.

From what I can tell the original reporter was trying to convert unknown format, of unknown size, of unknown quantity to .PDF files using the JOD converter through OpenOffice (not Impress itself) in large quantities (as error message points out) and something failed (original message says large quantities).

I checked OpenOffice 3.4.1 (build 9593) Impress's ability to Export PDF (File > Export as PDFs) of slides with image and text and they converted without problems, however within impress you only have the ability to convert a single file at a time.
