two squares with a straight connector

Open the attached document. There should be a connector between the two squares, but it is a simple line. Move the blue square to verify, that it is a simple line.

Reproducible with server installation of "AOO 4.0.0-Dev – English UI / German locale [AOO400m2(Build:9701) - Rev. 1485784 Rev.1485289 (2013-05-24)]" on WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", Common 4.0 Trunk User Profile

Not a new problem, already reproducible with AOO 3.4.0, OOo 3.1.1, OOo 1.1.5

None of my presentation softwares shows a connector (I do not have PP), only line instead of connector also in LibO, SoftMaker FreeOffice, Symphony. So I will have to trust Regina that it really is a connector ;-)

ALG: At import I get a mso_sptLine as aObjData.eShapeType in SvxMSDffManager::ImportShape (not a mso_sptStraightConnector1 or other connector types defined in svx/inc/svx/msdffdef.hxx). Checking with ppt...

ALG: It is a line in PPT (same as inserting a new line), but in PPT a line *has* connector functionality. I somewhere remember that Sven (master of PPT import) said that PPT does not have lines, but only connectors and only customshapes. I think that the decision to import these lines (all objects with two points) as lines and not as connectors is by purpose. It may be possible to find out if a line at import is connected to objects and then switch to create a connector, though, but this would be a new feature.
Thus, I see this not as error directly.

ALG: Checked in debug code, all straight lines could be imported as connectors, too (filter/source/msfilter/msdffimp.cxx|4427). It is not possible to first detect if a straight line has connections and then decide what to create. It *may* be possible to import all straight lines as connector, and after import, do another round and correct all straight connectors which have no connections to simple lines again, but...
