Using "Run as Administrator" the install progresses until "Computing Space Requirements", then hangs.

Work around: Note the directory where the OOo files are unzipped during the failed install.  From the Control Panel, select Programs, then Run programs made for previous versions of Windows, then Program compatibility troubleshooter, then Not Listed in the list of programs, then Next, then Browse for directory and setup.exe file, then Next.  This should install OOo as an XT+SP3 application.

I've been unable to confirm this bug.

OS: Win 8 Pro
OfficeVersion: 3.4.1 
Build: 9593
Dual Boot Machine. Win8 Installed on HD Partition. 
Windows 8 like new, no extra software. 

Opened the downloaded .exe and ran as admin. It Extracted the files, then installed the c++ Redistributable and arrived on an install screen.

I cancelled out and opened the setup.exe as an administrator, the longest time it ever took was on Copying Files, but there were no hangs.

- workaround available
- Windows 8 is currently not on focus
--> no release blocker for AOO 4.0 from my point of view.

remove showstopper request, I see no chance to work on this in time
