Description Joe Smith 2013-02-04 00:31:11 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
1) File > New > Presentaion ... Create (all defaults)
2) Insert two more empty slides

3) Click on slide 1 in the page panel, then click back in the slide panel.

4) Press Page Down -- slide 2 is selected
5) Press Page Down -- slide 3 is selected

6) Press Page Up -- slides 2+3 are selected
7) Press Page Up -- slides 1+2+3 are selected

The Page Up/Down keys should only change the active slide; they should never lead to selection of more than one slide.

The click sequence in step three seems to be important for seeing the problem.

Hey,

I am not able to reproduce the above mentioned defect on my PC.. win 7 OS ..
Comment 2 Joe Smith 2013-02-08 13:34:37 UTC
The click sequence given above is critical:

Click in the page panel

Click in the editing panel

Press Page Up.

The problem is consistent for me when I follow these steps, but not otherwise.

I see the same thing in the current nightly build.

With AOO 3.4.1 on Windows XP:

Slide 1 is kept always highlighted but only the new active slide is actually selected (press Del deletes only selected slide, and not slide 1).

The bug is more about slide 1 that keeps being highlighted (but not with exactly the same highlighting.

Correction: in fact, slide 1 is kept highlighted because the mouse is still over slide 1!

Yes, the defect is there! I've tested it with AOO 3.4.1 on Windows Vista, HP.

Thanks for reporting!

It seems not to affect everyone but I don't wee a pattern to it. There are some other comments here (some confirming, some not):

While I agree the problem is lower-priority, it could conceivably lead to data loss as the user could change or delete many slides while thinking only one is selected.
