Description Timon 2013-02-27 09:44:51 UTC
Created attachment 80366 [details] archive with xml file from Birt Report (with .xls extension) that could not be opened Apache Open Office 3.4.1 (AOO341m1 Build: 9593 Rev. 1372282) Final Russian UI/Locale on Russian Windows XP Professional SP3 (32bit) Here we have file (it is xml file from Birt Report with .xls extension), that requires "Use Java runtime environment" is enabled in AOO settings. If Java is not installed or enabled , then AOO displays the following notice (translated from Russian): "Openoffice.org need installed Java runtime environment. Use of Java is disabled in program settings. Allow use of Java?". "Yes" or "No". If we select "No", we see General I/O error. If we select "Yes", AOO tries to open file, but I waited for more then 25 minutes and file was not opened (but no crash occurs). AOO Calc hangs with about 100% CPU usage. In LibreOffice with or without Java installed file could not be opened, LibreOffice do not ask to install or activate use of Java and always crashes with "General input/output error." after about 1 minute 10 seconds on Dual-core E5300 CPU. CPU usage before crash is about 50% in LibreOffice Calc. In MS Office 2007 SP3 warning is shown (translated from russian) "The actual format of file is different from pointing to their file name extension. Before opening file, make sure it is not damaged and it is from a trusted source.", but file is opened without any problems after about 4 minutes 20 seconds.

@Timon: isn't this already reported in Bug 121631 ?

(In reply to comment #1) > @Timon: isn't this already reported in Bug 121631 ? Files are different. In Bug 121631 file could be opened. Here I could not open file. But problems might be related (but I'm not exactly sure).

(In reply to comment #1) > @Timon: isn't this already reported in Bug 121631 ? Also, file from Bug 121631 could be opened in LibO, and that one always crashes with "General input/output error."
