Description Walter 2013-08-01 16:45:15 UTC
Premise. I have the Italian version of AOO 4. I translated the italian label "parte principale" in "major interval", but I do not know if it is the correct translation of the label. The "parte principale" is the grid interval of the Y-axis.

1. Fire up AOO Calc.
2. Type in a few pairs of decimal numbers.
3. Insert a XY chart showing those numbers.
4. Select the XY chart.
5. In the XY chart we define the "major interval" of Y-axis with a decimal number (2.5 for example).
6. Press "OK" to confirm the choise.
7. Change another propriety of the Y-axis (the color of the line, for example).
8. Press "OK" to confirm the choise.

Result:
The XY chart is not correct. The "major interval" of Y-axis is changed in a way not wanted.

Expected result:
Should not change the main part though I have not specifically requested.

Note:
When you re-open the properties of the Y axis, I noticed that the "major interval" seems to be truncated to the integer part of the number entered, if it was previously set to a decimal value greater than 1, instead is set to 1 (one) if the value of the "major interval" is set to a value less than 1.

"Major interval" is a correct name in English version. I confirm this behavior as a regression.

Can not confirm in Rev. 1503704 Win 7.

Y Axis - Scale - Major interval -> setting is preserved.

Please attach example.

See attached file. Y major interval is set to 0.5 and chart looks fine.
Open Y axis > Scale, major interval shows 1. Push OK button and Y scale interval on chart change to 1.

Thanks.

Happens only in attachment 81233 [details].

All other testing with my own fresh charts were OK.

You must enter a decimal value. With integer value it's OK.
Comment 9 Edwin Sharp 2013-08-01 19:21:48 UTC
Bug visible with non integer.
Thanks.

reproduce the described defect in AOO 3.4.0, AOO 3.4.1 and AOO 4.0.0, but not in OOo 3.3.0 -> adjusting field version accordingly.
