Not allow Select locked cells.ods

Hello,
with AOO 4.0.1 US or French version, Windows, MacOsX, Linux DEB or RPM
not with LibO 4
After securing a sheet with the option not to allow: Select locked cells.
At the reopening of the file, they can be selected (but not be copied or edited thankfully).
Procedure:
1. Selecting the set of the sheet:
2. Format > Cells... > Format Cells > Cell Protection tab: Check the check to Protected
3. Selecting cells unprotect
4. Format > Cells...> Cell Protection: Uncheck Protected
5. Tools> Protect Document> Sheet ...
6. Uncheck the Enable option: Select locked cells
7. OK, check the selection of non-protected cells, save the document and close Calc
8. At the opening, the selection is possible, even if the writing is impossible.

Note : With or without a password

A+

Behavior is confirmed here as of Mar 11 2014. I am using oo 4.0.1 Windows 7 64bit.
Un-checking "Select Locked Cells" only works until you close the document. Re-opening the document you can select all cells.
It is a great feature for distributed spreadsheets with many users, I look forward to the fix.
Thank you.

Version has been modified erroneous, so back to old version

New feature in AOO 4.0.0, never worked correctly in an official build.

Filesave problem? Fileopen problem? Something else?

The "Select locked cells, Select unlocked cells" items are not described in the help pages on sheet protection.

I could not find an API concerning this "feature". The consequence is that when you unprotect/reprotect a sheet you will also allow to select all cells.

The function was enabled by issue 119552.

I was just going to create a bug report about this, but I found this one first, fortunately…

Same thing happens here. After reloading the file, cells that are not supposed to be selectable can be selected.

A fix would be much appreciated.

seems this option was only implemented for excel compatibility

can't find anything in the opendocument specs

http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part1.html#element-table_table

maybe it's possible to show this option only for excel files
at least put a note in the help

I really like this option. I hope there will be a fix for it.

The OpenDocument specification does not address user-interface provisions.

The implementation of such features would be by entries in a package's settings.xml <office:document-settings> element. This provides implementation-settings that apply to a document.

One problem with using settings.xml in this case is that such protection is set at the sheet level, not the document level. The convenient way to handle that would be with an extension that defines a couple of attributes about sheet-level selections in the <table:table> element of the sheet that the options apply to.

I created a sheet with selection not permitted for protected cells and it has no effect when the document is reloaded after being saved. The same is apparently true for LibreOffice. There is no indication about protection in the settings.xml file and the <table:table> element for a protected sheet does have a table:protected="true" attribute but nothing else.

This is a definite defect, since there is a way to handle it with ODF although it will not be recognized by software that does not recognize OpenOffice-specific settings in an .ods. It would be very strange to have this be effective only when saving the document in .xls format.
