While trying to apply a before text indent to a selected line(s) of text through the properties side menu (on the right of the window), and subsequently pressing enter to input the desired value, the selected text gets overwritten by the "Enter" key and creates a new line in the document.

Steps to replicate.

1. Write some text in a new document and select it.
2. If properties side menu isn't already opened, open it (blue/green cube icon in top right).
3. Change the value of the before text indent and press enter.
4. Watch as cursor stays in the before text input box, but your selected text disappears.

For some reason "Enter" causes this behaviour but other keys dont. Other inputs I have tried were letters, backspace, delete and other such keys. None of them do the same thing as enter.

The most confusing and upsetting part about this bug is the fact that the cursor stays in the input box, thus betraying the expectations of the user unexpectedly and (at first) inexplicably disappearing his/her content.

Version has been modified erroneous, so back to old version

Already reproducible with server installation of "AOO 4.0.0-Dev – English UI / German locale [AOO400m2(Build:9701) - Rev. 1489073 2013-06-03 13:48:37]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile, so Version 4.0

Same spin boxes in menu 'Format -> Paragraph' are not affected

More info:
(a) In menu 'Format -> Paragraph' modifications will not become active
    before [ok]. In sidebar that is different, new values become active
    "Just in Time", no <Enter> required. So the current behavior 
    even might be a feature, but I think it's a bad one, should be dropped
(b) Problem is not limited to selected text. <Enter> with Caret in affected
    spin box will insert <enter< into text
(c) Problem is limited to <enter> (what is without function in spin boxes,
    may be in all sidebar). <TAB>, <arrow> keys (what have function in spin 
    boxes) work as expectd
(d) I think it's without logic to do text modifications (add "enter") with
    caret flashing in spin box, so I doubt my feature-assumption" in (a).
(e) Also <shift+enter> and  <control+enter> will be applied to text
(f) I did not yet check all details, but the core problem also might exist in
    all applications (at least Calc):
    New Spreadsheet ->  type "abc" into cell A1 -> In sidebar click 
    'left aligned' -> Click left indent spinbox  and increase value
    (caret flashes in spinbox)
    -> <control+enter>: Unexpectedly adds line into cell
    > <enter>: Terminates edit mode for cell, cell cursor jumps to next cell
(g) Draw seems not affected, also with (e)

My conclusion: No "enter" to text as long as caret is in a spinbox
