Description openoffice 2014-01-19 21:44:17 UTC
Working on Calc document, then open an existing Calc document, which as per usual behaviour is displayed in a window at an X and Y offset from the first one.

However, when clicking on a cell in the top window (the second document) the actual cell that Calc chooses is not the one that was clicked on. eg I click on cell C2 but Calc selects C8.

Moving the top window, relative to the original window, changes the magnitude and direction of the error. If I move the top window so it is directly above the original window, the problem goes away.

This suggests that the top/second document window is taking its positioning queues from the bottom/first document window, eg that all offsets are absolute and not relative to the individual window.

The effect is to make the second window unusable.

The same result is observed after opening a third window.

Hi,
Tried replicating the bug on Windows 10 without success on both versions 4.0.1 and 4.1.1, following your steps as listed below:
- Open a new spreadsheet document.
- Open a second spreadsheet document (displayed at an offset x, y from the first document)
- Select a cell in the new document (e.g. E4) and note the cell it selects. Select another cell, and also take note of the cell that is selected.
- Move the second window around and perform step 3 at several different positions. Note the cells that you tried to select, and the cells that were actually selected in each case.
- Move the top window so that it is directly above the original window, and repeat step 3 again.
- Open a third window and carry out the same test (steps 3 to 5).

Unfortunately, Mac OSX 10.10 no longer supports this version of OpenOffice, so I couldn't replicate the bug on Mac.
