Priority too high. Hi Eike, I've checked this with OOo1.0.1 and SO6, they work as described and therefore different from SO 5.2. Please have a look at this Issue. Frank We don't sort matrix formulas at all anymore. Doing so was a bug in
SO5.2 and broke references. Otherwise imagine a simple 2D matrix like
{=A1:A2} with A1:=1 and A2:=2 sorted descending, you don't want that
to display 2,1 suddenly, or to be torn apart if other values lie in
between.
In the special case of a one-dimensional matrix in a single cell it
might be possible to move it around, but this is not a bug, I flag it
as enhancement.
Decoupling matrix formulas from their respective rows during a sort operation may seem like an enhancement to some; however, please consider that this rather major change puts OpenOffice at variance with the other 95% of the world's spreadsheet users, i.e. EXEL. Such incompatibility can be forced upon people by large user groups and corporations like Microsoft, but smaller groups and concerns usually find their strength in compatibility and cooperation. Schmadel, Please note that Excel behaves the same, array formulas are not sorted at all except if they are one-dimensional. This exception is exactly what I proposed to implement, so we will be even more "compatible" to the competitor. When sorting rows, the sort function does not move cells containing matrix equations along with their corresponding row. This can be seen in a very simple sheet having a first row of empty cells and the first cell of the second row containing the letter "z" and the second cell in the second row containing the matriz equation "{sum()}" After sorting the data the cell with "z" moves, of course, up into the first row, but the cell containing the matrix equation remains in the second row. Earlier versions of Star Office keep matrix equations attached to their corresponding rows and as such are quite usefull.
