Description Francisco 2014-02-26 22:54:07 UTC
Suppose you have opened any file in a PC, if you try to open the same file again (by mistake) all opened applications will fail and crash, loosing all changes.
Comment 1 Rainer Bielefeld 2014-02-27 06:00:52 UTC
NOT reproducible with "AOO 4.0.1 Release – German UI / German locale [AOO401m5(Build:9714) - Rev. 1524958 2013-09-20 11:40:29]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4.0 User Profile used for all predecessor versions. I very often try to open documents already opened by me or by an other user at a different Computer or by an other AOO version running in parallel, never saw a crash.

@Francisco
"A file" is a rather vague description .... . And don't you think that some additional information, for example what operation you think, might be useful for us?

You can get assistance at
<http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/>
or here:<http://www.openoffice.org/support/>
If you want to report bugs please consider hints on <http://www.openoffice.org/qa/issue_handling/basic_rules.html#summary>
Please feel free to reopen this Bug if discussion with other users leaded to an assessment that we have an AOO bug with a current AOO Version and a clear and comprehensible description how to reproduce the problem due to above mentioned guidelines.

Im using OpenSuse 12.3 with kde. Using dolphin explorer, I opened any .doc, .xls or .ppt file, after that, in dolphin explorer again I clicked over a .doc, .xls or .ppt already opened, and all apenoffice applications already opened will fail, and all changes will lost.

@reporter:
unfortunately still important information we will
need to reproduce your problem is missing.
Please add all information requested in following:
b) Attach 1 single sample document what reproduces the crash on your PC
f) add information
  f3) concerning your PC
  f4) concerning your Operating System (Language)
  f5) concerning your AOO version (with Build/revision ID if it's not a
     public release) and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
  f6) AOO settings that might be related to your problems
  f8) Whether your problem persists after you have renamed your user profile
     (Quit Quickstart before!) before you launch AOO (please see
     <http://www.openoffice.org/development/releases
  f9) Whether that worked in former OOO / AOO Versions
  f10) whether (and how) a competitor's software (MSO, LibreOffice, ...)
       fulfills your needs

Please do not cite these hints in your reply, but cite the items like:
f7): Desktop-icon for soffice.exe / AOO File menu -> Open@reporter:

Excuse me I forgot to say the file must have .doc or .xls extension!
