Hi mroe, you can do that by dragging the to-be-opened file on the window title bar or border, this opens the file as new file. D&D to the document is used for embedding as OLE, this is useful and needed. Drag and drop is possible only in start center (everywhere except window title bar). When other file is open drag and drop is not accepted. AOO410m18(Build:9764) - Rev. 1589052 2014-04-22 12:11 - Linux x86_64 Debian KDE 4.11.5 Hi Edwin, maybe we have system-dependent behaviour here, on win7 I can open a file with dragging it on the window title bar of an already opened AOO file. (In reply to Armin Le Grand from comment #3) > Hi Edwin, maybe we have system-dependent behaviour here, on win7 I can open > a file with dragging it on the window title bar of an already opened AOO > file. Yes, we have. Look at the OS field and at the first and second sentence of comment 0. What have I described wrong? Created attachment 83293 [details]

Hi Edwin, sorry, you did nothing wrong - I just use to check briefly incoming stuff, I oversaw the OS field. Adding Herbert, he may kbnow more about if this is a part of system-integration stuff. Almost a duplicate of issue 37744 ("D&D on the title bar is not usual for GTK apps"), but suggestions 2+3 of the report make it different enough. @hdu: Yes, thank you. It is difficult to find the right search words: drag → dragging, filemanager → desktop. Closing the old issue as DUP. And an additional possible solution: 4) Any place inside AOO (toolbars or esp. statusbar) but outside the document could be a target for dropping the file. *** Issue 37744 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** Sorry, haven't seen the dependence setting. Remove it. |
