I can't imagine any good reason why this Print dialog feature has not been implemented for PDF export dialog.

Page preview does not work for check of pages to be exported because of 
"Issue 28417 - Page preview destroys sheet selection" and "Issue 45497 - Page Preview does not respect "print only selected sheets"" (both fixed in LibO), so that PDF export of some required sheets of a bigger document with lots of sheets is really painful. An Export preview would help a little.
