Please note that dictionaries are not developed by OpenOffice team. Theses extensions are maintained by third parties. If you find a bug in a dictionary, try to find the original maintainer and report it to him. For user help support, contact the forum or the mailing list: https://forum.openoffice.org/ users@openoffice.apache.org I am able to re-produce the issue that user had created. Steps: 1. Launch Open Office Writer 2. Type a sentence that has incorrect grammar 3. Press F7 function key board Expected Result: Open Office will highlight the incorrect grammar usage word Actual Result: The grammar checker is not working as expected Tested with Open Office Version 4.0.1 Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit RAM: 4GB Processor: Intel Core i5 @ 2.5GHz (In reply to Joe Ferrucci from comment #0) > The grammar checker in Open Office Writer has never worked. I've typed in > "I ain't got no money" and when checked by the grammar checker, it checked > out as good grammar. If I were still in school this would be a major > problem since I've never been an English major. However, I'd like to do > some serious writing for publication and a word processor with a working > grammar checker is critical. To the best of my knowledge OpenOffice has never had a grammar checker native to the program. There are a number of third party extensions that do offer it. If you are using one of these and it is not working, you should report it to the extension author. If you believe that AOO should have a native grammar checker then the issue type should really be changed to Enhancement. According to previous comment #1 and comment #3 |
