Description issues@www 2001-07-17 16:38:19 UTC
When 'allow quick editing' is selected you have to be careful where you click
in the shape, depending on whether you want to edit or move. This is a bit
distracting. It would be easier if it was similar to Visio (which isn't perfect
either, but is a little easier).

In Visio, if you click on a shape, it is selected and can be moved regardless
of where you clicked. You can then start to type, which replaces the existing
text or adds new text if there isn't any existing. If you want to edit the
existing text then you have to double-click.

A more useful scheme would be to allow double click and typing as above but
also to enter edit mode by pressing the Enter key. This should preserve the
existing text and place the cursor at the end of the text.

Thanks,
Ed.

Hi Christian, what do you think about this?

In my opinion the possibility to edit text like in Vision (PPoint
does have this feature, too) is a great idea. But I can't support the
idea of switching into edit mode by pressing enter. This a little bit
to much like a word processor.
If a text is alredy in an object, it should be possible to jump to
the end of the text by doing these steps.

1. Select Object
2. Press Enter -> Text is selected
3. Curser right -> Cursor jumps to the end of the text.

Ok, on it.
