Please try using the latest OOo 1.1 Rc4, Your version already old enough, and many bug fixes since your version and 1.1 RC4. Say we have a normal text page of 72 chars each lines and 60 lines. Some of this text are spaced and organized like a simplified table (eg. a database I/O): Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 a 1 red b 2 green c 3 blue In MS Word it is possible to select a multi-line textblock like Column 2 here of 4 lines and 8 char's width by using the combined keyboard and mouse command: Shift+Alt and left mouse button to select the textblock. When I asked for this in the StarOffice 6 beta period, this feature wasn't implemented in Writer, but was placed as a suggestion to the developer team, see below here. Still in OOo 1.02 this useful feature doesn't look to be implemented. Terje J.
