See sheet one "L1" with bug on the second diagram

If you copy and paste an existing calc diagram via CTRL-c and CTRL-v then you are not able to modify the datarange on the copied diagram.

The datarange option is not visible via right click on the specified diagram curve. In the German version there is a new option visible instead called "Diagram Data table..".

This is not the case on diagram one (original). There is the functionality given.

There is a work around availbale is you use the navigator to copy the diagram.

From my point of view this is an mayor bug, these basic copy and paste functionality should work anyway.

I don't know if this is really a bug. I think it works as implemented so it isn't a DEFECT. Maybe there could be an enhancement but which way?
Why should one have 2 diagrams with the same values in the sheet?
If you copy the diagram to another sheet - should it refer to the original data or to the data at the new sheet?
If you copy the diagram to another docment - should it always refer to the other document?

You can simply solve the problem by selecting the wanted data area (the old one or a new one), drag it to the copied diagram and drop the data.

If this is a solution for you please close this issue.

Version 4.1.7 German

I copied a file, which I update about once a week to my server so I can access it from all of my computers.
When opened it there all diagram data ranges were replaced with data tables.

This has been a problem for a long time in OO and apparently no solution has been found so far.

I try to move to OO from Excel were I never have experienced such a problem.

The old discussion below is "garbage" (please excuse my expression)
Not everybody seems to understand the implications of this problem.

If I create one diagram, with appropriate scales, fonts, background, etc. and then copy it to fill it with different data than that is why one needs to be able to copy a diagram, even so it has the same data link at the beginning.
If it goes in a different table or even a different work book should not matter, the data link to the original file should still be there - especially if one needs to compare different test series.

If you ever have to create more than 3 graphs with a similar appearance you know what I am talking about - and I had and have to do dozens.

So please take up this subject and fix it ASAP.
