Created attachment 86353 [details] Writer document with Bibliography form and table control Database form with table controls crash when loading or when scrolling the table control. Created attachment 86537 [details] Testfile for scrolling a table I can not confirm with the attached test document. I created 2 Rows. 1 ID one test Filed, and field random data. Then scrolled up and down. Maybe I get this Issue wrong? Can you try again with my testfile?

Comment 7 Andreas Säger 2018-11-01 00:59:15 UTC
A list box is not the same as a table control.
Comment 8 Andreas Säger 2019-01-31 22:15:07 UTC
Sorry, the problem is gone after several system updates. Possibly it was an Ubuntu issue?
Comment 9 Marcus 2019-01-31 23:38:46 UTC
Thanks for your update. As there was no change in the code, I'm changing the status.

Well, I was able to reproduce the problem again. The current situation with my Ubuntu 18.4 (Gnome3) on a Lenovo W540 looks like this: While the classic X11 display server is in use, OpenOffice may crash when a table control is inserted. It freezes when an existing table control is loaded and getting the focus. While the optional Wayland display server is in use, table controls work normally. With Wayland certain drop-down toolbar buttons (such as line style drop-down in text table toolbar) crash the entire desktop environment down to the login screen if and only if the toolbar is floating. LibreOffice keeps all toolbars docked when Wayland is active. It is possible to move them along the frame borders but it is impossible to make them float.

resetting to unconfirmed then. We need a second opinion. It is very well possible that it works on my machine sine I use a moving distro.

Yet another update regarding the before mentioned total crash: When the active display server is Wayland and I create a text table, the context sensitive text table toolbar pops up in undocked mode. When I use some drop-down button on the undocked toolbar, I'll find myself on the desktop log-in screen, due to a crash of the display server which tears down the entire user interface. My personal work-around when I really need to use OpenOffice with Ubuntu Linux: 1. Start with Wayland. Otherwise my database forms having a table control will freeze. 2. Whenever a free floating toolbar pops up, I need to dock it before using it. Otherwise I lose the whole desktop session.
