I have been writing a novel, and everything was saving well.  Today, my computer made a loud noise at me, and said that it couldn't save my doc. I tried to delete my new work, and it all stayed, but went yellow. 
I closed the file, and then tried to go back in, and it has it as not there, now.  Seven pages of writing!

Sounds like a hardware issue. What does the windows log say?
What do you want us to fix?
