Created attachment 87042 [details] Relevant screenshots Click an icon of a toolbar. While pressing the Alt key, drag the icon slightly outside the toolbar (in case of a one-row toolbar). Release the mouse button. That may leave fragments of the gray box visible. Cf. examples in the attached file.
