In MSWord there's a very nice feature called "Word Count" which serves nice
statistics of the document.
Why won't you implement a similar thing - it's fairly simple.
Valuable information:
Word count
Line count
Char. count
total edit time.

feature already present (in File|Properties->Statistics)
but there's already an issue to make it accessible more easily (and
more useful) -> marking duplicate.
