URL Note: Even though the link says the file is an .RTF, it really is a .DOC 
file, as you will see when you download it. (I can also e-mail you the file if 
that's easier.) 

Background: FYI, almost every single USAF solicitation uses this M$ Word 
format, and this problem seems to occur in all of them, not just this document. 
I've searched the current issues database, and I couldn't find an open issue 
that really fit this Writer display issue for Word Text boxes. 

Problem: The document in question is an example USAF Solicitation (Standard 
Form 1447 5-88) in Microsoft Word format. After the .DOC file is opened in 
Writer, the entire first page is missing from the document. This entire page is 
filled with many Word text boxes. The If opened in M$ Word, it works fine. I 
have modified the document margins, file import types, etc and I still can't 
seem to help Writer import this DOC file. This Word formatting problem has 
existed at least since version 1.0.

I can reproduce it at 1.1 Rc4 Win Xp pro. 

the different is :
- first page become blank 
- Other page are wird and didnt correct the format

The file in fact IS an RTF document. Have a look at the file with a
text editor and you'll see...
Writer's RTF import does not support Autoshapes from (only the WinWord
filter does). It might be implemented for OO 3.0.

MRU->CMC: this is the OO version of the feature request for escher
objects in RTF.
