Faulty Word document produced by OOo none

Description Unknown 2003-05-26 11:22:34 UTC
Opened a Word 2002 document with a picture on the first line. Edited the
document, first line untouched. Everything OK. Saved as Word 97/2000/XP
document. Still OK. Closed OOo, reopened next day and reopened document. First
line has lost all formatting - instead of Arial 48pt I get Times New Roman
11pt - but still has picture. Opened in Word 2002: TNR 11pt and no picture.
Problem disappears when I delete the picture.
Comment 1 Unknown 2003-05-26 11:36:42 UTC
Trying to attach the faulty Word document. But I don't know how to
specify the MIME type, required by Issuezilla, and there is no
documentation on this side giving MIME types. Please advise.
Comment 2 Matthias Basler 2003-05-26 21:09:26 UTC
Attach OpenOffice or Word documents as "binary file" mime type.

I cannot reproduce it at 1.1 Rc4 on win xp

it look same when I open at MS Office XP and OO 1.1 Rc4 .
can you explain how to test this doc so we can get your problem ?
Comment 6 Unknown 2003-09-11 11:09:56 UTC
The attached document is faulty because the words "Peter's Page"
should be Arial 48pt. Try the following, which I just did:

Open the document in OOo 1.1 rc4. Change the font of the words
"Peter's Page" to Arial 48pt. Save the document. Open in Word 2002.
The words are in Times New Roman 11pt, which is the Normal style.
Close OOo and restart. Open the document in OOo. Again the words are
in TNR 11pt. OOo is not saving the font and size change.

This does not happen to lines other than the first and does not happen
if I delete the picture.
Comment 7 utomo99 2003-09-11 12:08:07 UTC
I can reproduce this on 1.1 Rc4 Win Xp. yes the font change didnt take
any effect
Comment 8 michael.ruess 2003-09-11 13:27:25 UTC
MRU->CMC: Problem with disappearing graphic couldn't be reproduced.
But text formatting: select the first line, change font size ti 48pt,
save as WW8, reopen -> font is back to 11pt.
Comment 9 caolanm 2003-09-12 09:18:51 UTC
Indeed, its an artifact caused by the graphic being anchored to that
paragraph which forces the export to map the graphic into a graphic
anchor character on export, which throws the export of properties
applied to the complete paragraph to be clipped. i.e. the export of
properties hardcoded to the entire paragraph end up only on the
trailing (normally invisible) paragraph end mark in word.

:-(, should be fixable.

MRU->MMAHER: this problem still occurs (680m33). Please have a look, why this
fix hasn't been integrated into master. Thanks!

Because of a shortage of resources we have to retarget this issue to OOo later.

assigning to hbrinkm
Comment 22 Ted Socolofsky 2013-03-14 21:28:23 UTC
Failed for me on version 3.4.1.
Work around found: Insert picture, save as *.odt file, and then close Writer. Open *.odt file and then save as *.doc. Close Writer and now open *.doc file and it's OK. Seems to be OK for ever after.
