Description davep1 2003-05-27 16:33:46 UTC
Regardless of the status of any modifications meant to ease the upgrade path
(see issue 14931 et al.), the installation instructions should assume that a
large number of users are upgrading rather than installing from scratch. While
the 1.1b2 ReadMe states that I can run multiple versions at the same time, it
tells me nothing if, like many people, I don't want to.

When 1.1 is released, it should say up front [minimally: on the website, in the
FAQ, and in the ReadMe] what users of 1.x need to do in order to ensure that
1.1 is the only version remaining on their machines.

With the fix for 12755 we don't need a hint in the readme etc. how to
update. The Setup-UI has a special dialog for this feature. Aftter
updating OOo 1.0.x with OOo 1.1 the user has only one office on his box.
