Issue 15922

Summary: strange behaviour when dropping pictures on Writer window
Product: Writer Reporter: simonbr
Component: codeAssignee: AOO issues mailing list <issues>

Severity: Trivial
Priority: P3 CC: issues, mkennedy
Version: OOo 1.1 Beta2Keywords: oooqa

Hardware: PC
OS: Windows XP
Issue Type: ENHANCEMENT Latest Confirmation in: ---
Developer Difficulty: ---

Description simonbr 2003-06-22 22:25:16 UTC
I dropped about 20 digital photos from a folder onto the Writer window,
expecting them to be inserted each below the other. But somehow they are all
inserted on page 1, in the same place. If you try to scroll the page then
Writer tries to update the screen by showing parts of all pictures after
another. If you try it for yourself you will see what I mean.

I took a group of pictures holding the shift key down while selecting
them, then moved them as a group over to Writer, and observed the odd
behavior mentioned when scrolling in Writer.

I'm going to mark this as new since I can confirm the behavior. It
does look odd, but it possibly may be marked as an enhancement
request depening on what the general opinion is.
Comment 3 h.ilter 2003-07-10 15:44:48 UTC
It's not defect. Writer is not optimized for such handling.
Comment 4 simonbr 2003-07-11 13:09:55 UTC
Did you try it?
The way it displays the pictures is definitely not "normal
behaviour". You may be able to work around it, and it does not make
the program unusable, but I don't agree with not calling it a defect!
