In Writer create a document with a couple headings then, Insert (menu) > Indexes
and Tables > Indexes and Tables ... > type: table of contents. Now move to the
Entries tab. I am able to create a hyperlink out of the headings but unable to
modify the hyperlink once the table of contents has been generated. A hyperlink
can be created by placing the cursor in the appropriate position and then
clicking on the hyperlink button. This inserts a [LS] button which I assume
means Link Start. I then move past the structure that I want the link to
enclose and press the hyperlink button again. This inserts a Link End, [LE]
button. The problem is that I am unable to change the position of or delete the
[LS] and [LE] buttons once they have been placed. Another issue is that this
interface is not intuative in the sense that the user had to guess what the
button lables really mean. I will attache a file which demonstraits this problem.

Too much intuitivity kills the intuitivity! ;)
Just set the cursor on the [LS] or [LE] control and press... the Del
key on your keyboard! ;)
To correct the hyperlink set the cursor at the position you want the
link tostart and stop and reinsert it.
